Joasia Krysa is Artistic Director of Kunsthal Aarhus, Denmark and founding director of KURATOR, an association of curators and researchers interested in algorithmic culture (www.kurator.org). Between 2000-2012 she was Associate Professor (Reader) in Art and Technology at Plymouth University, UK, and prior to this worked with WRO Media Art Biennale and as Art Director at Polish Television, Wroclaw. She was part of dOCUMENTA (13) curatorial team working under Artistic Director Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev (2009-2012).

Krysa is series editor of Data Browser (Autonomedia, New York), author of anthology Curating Immateriality (2006), and author of ‘Ada Lovelace’ , notebook 055 in the dOCUMENTA 13 publication series 100 Notes – 100 Thoughts (Hatje Cantz, 2012). She has a background in curatorial studies (Goldsmiths College, London), political sciences (Maria Curie University, Lublin), and cultural theory (Wroclaw University), and has a PhD in Software Curating (Planetary Collegium, UK). Her work combines academic research, curating and writing in the field of contemporary art, technology, and media culture.
