Following the launch of the special issue CUT with the Journal of Visual Culture, the Museum of Contemporary Cuts is happy to announce Cut Out or Cut In? A Reflection on Contemporary Insurrectional Art and Media. This is the talk and panel that will launch the special issue titled “CUT” of the Journal of Visual Culture, which is edited by Lanfranco Aceti, and features contributions by Bill Balaskas, Marina Gioti, Katerina Koskina, Nikos Navridis, Poka-Yio, Artemis Potamianou, Maria Tsagkari, Maria Tsantsanoglou, Stefanos Tsivopoulos, Kostis Velonis and Yorgos Zois. Before embarking on a global journey of presentations and panel discussions, which will include destinations such as London, New York and Boston, the issue will be presented in Athens. This will happen in recognition of the numerous Greek contributions to the issue, as well as a reflection on the severe impact of the economic crisis on Greek artists and cultural institutions.
The special issue will be introduced by Lanfranco Aceti on Friday 20th November 2015, at 12 pm, at the headquarters of the British Council of Greece (Kolonaki, Athens).
